Our Mission: The Professional Artist The UBJ Community is a movement dedicated to professionalizing the African entertainment industry. Founded by Uncle Black Jack, our mission is to empower magicians, face painters, jugglers, and variety artists. We use the arts as a tool to create jobs, combat crime, and offer the youth a constructive, profitable path away from substance abuse and towards financial independence. 2. Eligibility and Membership 2.1 Who Can Join: Kids & Toddlers: Access to guidance, mentorship, and creative surprises. Teenagers: Earn UBJ Coins while learning professional performance skills. Adults: Resources for career establishment, high-ticket business ventures, and global networking. Volunteers: Participation in “Performance with a Purpose” community outreach. 2.2 Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your password. Accurate information is required to ensure you receive your physical membership rewards (T-shirts/Cards). 2.3 Task & Premium Membership: Upgrading to Premium unlocks the “4 Elements” mentorship, a physical Membership Card, a branded T-shirt, and direct access to Uncle Black Jack’s business support. 3. Platform Ecosystem 3.1 The Green Room (Connect): A private social space for artists. Respectful conduct is mandatory. No “trick leaking” or disrespecting fellow performers. 3.2 The Academy (E-Learning): * Students: Access specialized performance and business courses. Teachers: You may sell your own courses. You retain ownership of your content but grant UBJ a license to host it. 3.3 The Artist’s Marketplace: You may open a store to sell props or services. UBJ is a facilitator; you are responsible for your own customer service and product quality. 3.4 Affiliate & Agency Programs: You can earn commissions by recruiting new talent. You must comply with local marketing laws. 3.5 UBJ Coin: Earnings: Earned through platform engagement (mining). Utility: Used only within the platform for courses, gear, or upgrades. Value: Starts at 0.01 ZAR. Value is internal and non-guaranteed. 4. UBJ Business Support (Premium Only) Through our partner, I Mind Your Business (IMYB), we provide digital growth services (SEO, Web Design, Branding) to help you scale your act. Additional Costs: Membership covers our labor. You are responsible for external costs like ad spend, domain purchases, or specialized premium plugins. 5. Payment & Ownership 5.1 Fees: All membership fees are non-refundable. 5.2 Recurring Payments: Full ownership of services (like your performer website) is granted only upon completion of all installments. Default: Accounts 14 days late are “On Hold.” Accounts 60 days late may be deleted to free up server resources. 5.3 Intellectual Property: Upon full payment, you own the specific creatives (logos, websites) we built for you. Until then, UBJ retains ownership. 6. Conduct: The Performer’s Code You agree to act in a supportive, professional manner. Spamming, harassment, or sharing “stolen” magic secrets will result in immediate account termination. 7. Disclaimer & Liability The platform is provided “as is.” While we strive for 100% uptime, we do not warrant that services will be uninterrupted. UBJ Community is not liable for loss of gig profits or data resulting from your use of the platform. 8. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, Gauteng Province. Any disputes shall be settled in the courts of Gauteng. 9. Termination We reserve the right to suspend any account that violates our mission or these Terms without prior notice.
